eSports: Intel (IT) and ESL (eSports event organiser) extend partnership to invest $100m in eSports

Intel Corporation, a US-based computer and electronics company, is extending its partnership with the Electronic Sports League (ESL), an eSports event organiser, to jointly invest $100m (€88.2m) in eSports until 2021, according to the ESL on 12/12/2018.

"Over the next three years (2018-2021), more than $100m will be invested by Intel and ESL to shape the future landscape of eSports through innovative technology, tournaments, and events, marking the biggest brand and technology eSports partnership in history," said ESL.

Intel and ESL have been partners for 18 years (since 2000), "the longest standing partnership in all of eSports," underlined the eSports event organiser. Since 2006, Intel has been the official title sponsor of the Intel Extreme Masters, an ESL event which has had 73 editions so far. Subsequently, the American company became the exclusive global technical partner for eSports tournaments organised by the ESL on 12/06/2017.
