Premier League: record turnover of £189m for Everton FC in 2017-18 (+10.3%), net loss of -£13.1m

Everton FC (Premier League) posted a record turnover of £189m (€213.3m on 30/06/2018) in the 2017-18 fiscal year (from 01/07/2017 to 30/06/2018), up 10.3% compared to 2016-17 (£171.3m, or about €194.8m), announced the club on 18/12/2018. The Liverpool club (ENG) broke its revenue record for the second consecutive season.

On the other hand, Everton FC recorded negative net result of -£13.1m (-€14.8m) in 2017-18, compared to a record net profit of £30.6m (€34.8m) in 2016- 17. The club also posted an operating loss of £22.9m (-€25.9m), compared to an operating profit of £25m (€28.4m) in the previous season (excluding player transfers in all cases).

"Commercial revenue from sponsorship, advertising and merchandising grew by 34 per cent from 2017, reaching a record £20.7m (€23.4m). Broadcasting revenue dropped only marginally from £130.5m in 2017 to £130m (about €147m in both cases)," added Everton FC.

"As a result of this investment (player recruitment), the club's total wage to turnover ratio has risen from 61% in 2017 to 77% in 2018. The club incurred £34m (€38.4m) in exceptional…
