LaLiga Santander: Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts of the 20 clubs (January 2019)

The 20 clubs involved in the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander season have nearly 449 million fans on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to data collected by News Tank Football on 01/01/2019. This total makes LaLiga Santander the most popular European league on the three social networks, ahead of the Premier League, with an average of over 23 million fans per club.

Real Madrid CF is the most popular club in Spain with nearly 208 million fans. The cumulative number of fans of the 2018 FIFA Club World Cup winners and FC Barcelona (2^nd with more than 195 million fans in total) represents nearly 90% of the total fans of LaLiga Santander clubs on these three social networks. Third in the rankings, Club Atlético de Madrid has over 23.9 million fans.

On Instagram, FC Barcelona posted the second best increase in the Top 5 (+1.1 million followers), behind Juventus FC (Serie A TIM, +1.3 million) and ahead of Real Madrid CF (+1.09 million). Club Atlético de Madrid, meanwhile, passed the 6 million followers mark on this social network during December 2018.
