Basketball: AXA Spain (insurance) official partner of Euroleague Basketball for 2018-19

AXA Spain, a subsidiary of the French insurance company AXA, has become an official partner of Euroleague Basketball in Spain for the 2018-19 season, on 20/12/2018. AXA has the status of "official partner", the third level in the sponsorship hierarchy of Euroleague Basketball.

"AXA will be present in all Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and 7DAYS EuroCup games as well in the competitions' digital platforms and TV broadcasting," said Euroleague Basketball. AXA has previously been involved in European basketball, notably as the title sponsor of FC Barcelona Lassa (Liga Endesa) in the 2007-08 season.

The partnership with Euroleague also confirms AXA's return to sports sponsorship, following the partnership with Liverpool FC (Premier League) on 04/10/2018. The group was the main shirt sponsor of Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM) during the 2010-2014 period (estimated at €2m per season). In the 2010's, AXA focused its sports sponsorship strategy mainly on rugby, with partnerships with Provale, Stade Français, ASM Clermont Auvergne and Racing 92 (Top 14, France).
