Twitter: Top 100 European clubs with the most followers (January 2019)

With nearly 52.4 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most popular European club on Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football,which offers a Top 100 of the most popular European clubs on this social network as of 02/01/2019.

To establish this Top 100, News Tank Football counts the number of followers on the main Twitter account, but also those of additional accounts in foreign languages. FC Barcelona, for example, has fewer followers on its Spanish account than Real Madrid CF, second in the ranking, but the Catalan club is ahead with a higher number of followers on its other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (second with nearly 50.8 million followers), well ahead in the European rankings, are the only two clubs in the Top 100 to count more than 25 million followers each. Among the 10 most followed clubs on Twitter, besides Barça and Real, are five Premier League clubs, one Spor Toto Süper Lig club, one Serie A TIM club and one Ligue 1 Conforama club.
