"There must be a limit to the expenses related to player salaries and agents commissions. What is the point of having a turnover increase if this money is used for a player to have five Lamborghinis instead of two in his garage and that his agent no longer has only two houses, but four houses and a villa? This economic madness leads only to this and among the clubs, we encourage it by making transfers," said Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, CEO of Club Atlético de Madrid (LaLiga Santander), on 02/01/2019.

Miguel Ángel Gil Marín was one of the participants in "a round table" on "New Formats and Revenue Perspectives" during the 13^th edition of the Dubai International Sports Conference, held in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), on 02 and 03/01/2019.

During the event, Atlético de Madrid was awarded the title of "Club of the Year 2018", thanks in particular to the club's victories in the 2018-19 Europa League (3-0 versus Olympique de Marseille on 16/05/2018) and 2018 UEFA Super Cup (4-2 versus Real Madrid CF, on 15/08/2018).
