"Of course we are also interested in the live rights of the Bundesliga, the Bundesliga and also the 2.Bundesliga are enormously interesting for sports fans in the German-speaking countries," said Thomas de Buhr, managing director of DAZN (OTT platform) Germany, Austria and Switzerland, to the German newspaper Bild, on 09/01/2019.

For the current cycle (2017-2021), DAZN already broadcasts highlights of the Bundesliga and 2.Bundesliga, while Sky Deutschland and Eurosport share the rights to broadcast live matches (see details below).

"At the end of the day, the rights must also be economically viable for us. A rights package that would force us to raise the price (of a subscription) to €30 a month makes no sense to us," added Thomas de Buhr.
