LaLiga: a record attendance of 7.5 million fans in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 at mid-season

"Over 7.5 million fans attended football matches in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 during the first half of the 2018-19 campaign, an increase of 602,372 on the previous season," said LaLiga, on 16/01/2019. This figure marks a mid-season attendance record for the Spanish league.

"Stadiums in LaLiga Santander and LaLiga 1|2|3 registered a total attendance of 7,520,225 in the first half of the 2018/19 campaign. The record figure brings the competition even closer to its target of 15 million by the end of the season," added the body. The 20 LaLiga Santander stadiums drew exactly 5,172,228 spectators during the first 19 matchdays of the season (+2.35%), while the 22 LaLiga 1|2|3 stadiums drew 2,347,997 after 21 matchdays of the first half of the season (+25.93%).

"As an entertainment industry, LaLiga continues to grow and supporters' interest in taking part in the spectacle of Spanish football is demonstrated by the positive trend in the number of fans attending matches season on season," concluded the Spanish League.
