"We are experimenting with software whose objective is to optimize artificial intelligence to determine the best schedules for our matches and maximize attendance at stadiums and audiences at the national and international levels," said Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, on 13/02/2019.

This software, developed by the Spanish League and its technology partner, the American technology group Microsoft, allows up to 27 criteria to be taken into account, using in particular the attendance of the last 15 seasons and the audiences of the last four seasons, in order to determine the optimal schedules for LaLiga Santander matches. Several Spanish media reports indicate that this software could be put into operation as early as February 2019.

"What would be the best times to maximize attendance at the stadiums and have the best television audience? The machine analyses this in five minutes and calculates them for you," said Javier Tebas.

"We tell broadcasters exactly what is happening with LaLiga in their country" (J. Tebas, LaLiga, 23/10/2018)
