UEFA : Euro 2016 on programme of the Executive Committee meeting in Nyon (SUI), on 23 and 24/01/2014

Euro 2016, held in France from the 10/06 to the 10/07/2016, is on the programme of UEFA's (Union of European Football Associations) first meeting of the executive committee in 2014, in the House of European Football in Nyon (SUI), on the 23 and 24/01/2014.

The executive committee will confirm the qualifying draw procedure for the playoffs, which will be held at the Palais des Congrès Acropolis of Nice, on Sunday 23/02/2014, at noon (CET). The 53 participating teams (including Gibraltar who will play their first official matches, after their recognition by UEFA on the 24/05/2013) will be divided into nine groups, eight of six teams and one of five. France national team, automatically qualified as hosts, will play friendly matches against teams from the group of five.

Michel Platini, chairman of UEFA, and members of the executive committee will also discuss the final tournament match schedule of Euro 2016. Ten stadiums (Bordeaux, Lens, Lille, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Paris, Saint-Denis, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse) will host 51 matches. The final will take place at the Stade de France…
