Manchester (ENG): David Beckham to purchase a 10% stake in Salford City Football Club

David Beckham, former England captain and Manchester United FC (Premier League) player, is to purchase a 10% stake in Salford City FC (Vanarama National League, English fifth division), according to the Greater Manchester (ENG) club, after a press conference with the "Class of 92" (CO92, based on year of graduation from the Manchester United academy) co-owners Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes, on 23/01/2019.

"Beckham, 43 years old, is the final member of the Class of 92 to take a stake in the club as CO92 become the majority shareholders with 60%, although (Singaporean businessman) Peter Lim remains the single largest shareholder with 40%. Lim will continue to offer financial stability and is intrinsic in moving the club forward, while Beckham's arrival strengthens the ownership as we continue our ambitions of reaching the Football League (starting from the fourth division)," said the club.
