France: Marseille to play their next home match behind closed doors after incidents versus Lille

"Gathered on Monday 28/01/2018, the LFP Disciplinary Commission has reviewed the incidents at the Olympique de Marseille - LOSC Lille match (1-2, Friday 25/01/2019). Due to the nature and seriousness of the events, the Commission has decided to investigate the case and, as a precautionary measure, to close the Orange Velodrome (66,297 capacity) for the duration of the investigation," announced the League on 28/01/2019.

During the Olympique de Marseille - LOSC Lille (Matchday 22 of the Ligue 1 Conforama, kick-off at 20:45 CET) game, a firecracker launched from one of the stands of the Orange Velodrome exploded near the players and an assistant referee, causing the referee to halt the match for 38 minutes in the second half.

Olympique de Marseille will therefore be forced to play their next opponents at home behind closed doors until the investigation of the case has been completed.
