Red Card 2019: Real Madrid CF European club with the strongest digital presence in China

Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander) is "the number one club online in China", according to the "Red Card 2019 China Digital Football Awards Report" published by Mailman Group, a Chinese agency that analyses and manages the digital presence of brands on the internet, on 24/01/2019. With 75 points, Real Madrid is top the podium ahead of FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga, 2^nd, 61 points) and Manchester United FC (Premier League, 3^rd, 58 points).

The Red Card 2019 Report (document available to download) is based on eight different performance indicators, including the number of followers, audience growth and follower engagement on the Chinese social network Weibo, the club's impact on the instant messaging platform WeChat, followers on the Chinese video sharing platform Douyin (TikTok) and on the sports information platform Toutiao. To prepare its report, Mailman Group collected data on European clubs between 01/01/2018 and 31/12/2018.
