Bologna FC: Stadio Dall'Ara rennovations to be financed by the club (€40m) and the City (€30m)

Bologna FC 1909 (Serie A TIM) have presented the financing plan for the modernisation project of the Italian club's stadium the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara (36,462 capacity), on 25/01/2019.

The budget for the renovation work on the stadium, which will have a reduced and adjustable capacity of 27,500 to 29,000 seats, amounts to €70m, will be financed by a public-private partnership. The City of Bologna (ITA), owner of the site, will contribute €30m, while Bologna FC will pay around €40m.

"The Stadio Dall'Ara is an architectural symbol of Italian sport, but its 92 years of life require a fundamental redevelopment to keep it up with the standards of contemporary sport. The very growth of the club depends on such an undertaking," said Canadian businessman Joey Saputo, majority shareholder and president of Bologna FC since 2014, who may directly contribute the club's share of funding for the renovation work, according to several Italian media reports.
