2019 Women's World Cup: 2,500 volunteers selected from 13,093 candidates

"In four months' time, 2,500 volunteers will be working to ensure the smooth running of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup France. Launched on 28/05/2018, the (volunteer) programme was a great success with 13,093 applications registered (an average of more than five candidates per position)," announced the Local Organising Committee of the Women's World Cup on 04/02/2019.

The 2019 Women's World Cup is scheduled from 07/06 to 07/07/2019 in nine host cities in France: Grenoble, Le Havre, Lyon, Paris, Montpellier, Nice, Reims, Rennes and Valenciennes.

"The selected volunteers will be assigned one of the 30 positions in 12 sectors such as helping to set up events or welcoming the public. The only conditions to apply are: to be 18 years old on 01/03/2019, to be motivated and available at least on matchdays and on training days," explained France 2019.

"The most requested positions are related to support for the organisation of matches, the reception and orientation of spectators, the delivery of accreditations, media support and protocol services. In line with the CSR Corporate social responsibility policy promoted by the Local Organising Committee and FIFA as well as its values of gender equality, the event will involve 45% women and 55% men from 75 countries," added the organisers of the 2019 Women's World Cup.

• The oldest volunteer is 87 years old and lives in Reims (FRA).

• The youngest turned 18 on 02/02/2019 and lives in Paris (FRA).
