Twitter: Top 100 most followed European Clubs (February 2019)

With nearly 52.6 million followers, FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) is the most followed European club on Twitter, according to data collected by News Tank Football, which offers a Top 100 of the most popular European clubs on this network as of 02/02/2019.

To establish this Top 100, News Tank Football counts the number of followers on the main Twitter account, but also those of additional accounts in foreign languages. FC Barcelona, for example, has fewer followers on its Spanish account than Real Madrid CF, second in the ranking, but the Catalan club is ahead with a higher number of followers on its other accounts.

FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF (second with nearly 51 million followers), which are well ahead of the European ranking, are the only two clubs in the Top 100 to have more than 25 million followers each. Among the 10 most followed clubs on Twitter, besides Barça and Real, are five Premier League clubs, one of Turkish Spor Toto Süper Lig club, one from the Serie A TIM and one from the Ligue 1 Conforama.
