UEFA: a new Champions League account on the Chinese instant messaging platform WeChat

UEFA has launched a new Champions League account on WeChat (China's instant messaging platform), "building on the recent relaunch of its Weibo account (in November 2018) to bring the competition closer to Chinese fans," said the European body, on 13/02/2019.

"The WeChat and Weibo platforms will offer users premium UEFA Champions League content, personalised for the Chinese market. Chinese football fans will be able to enjoy content such as classic UEFA Champions League moments, star player interviews and profiles, official data analysis and highlights plus much more. One of the key aims of the WeChat account is to bring Chinese football fans closer together by launching a fan hub, where supporters will have the chance to discuss all football-related topics," added UEFA.

"WeChat will also run interactive activities around major UEFA Champions League events and matchdays to increase interaction with fans.
