Ligue 1 Conforama: Vadim Vasilyev "released from his position" at AS Monaco FC by Dmitry Rybolovlev

"I have decided to release Vadim Vasilyev from his position as vice-president and CEO of the club," said Dmitry Rybolovlev, majority shareholder and president of AS Monaco FC (Ligue 1 Conforama), on 14/02/2019.

The Russian Vadim Vasilyev joined AS Monaco in January 2013 as an advisor to the president, his compatriot. He then became the club's sporting director in March of the same year, before being appointed vice-president in August.

"During the six years that Vadim Vasilyev worked at AS Monaco, we have come a long way together. We have had many successes: our team has been on the Ligue 1 podium five times; for the first time in 17 years, the club won the French Championship (2016-17), and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League (2016-17). However, significant mistakes were made last year, which led to the worst sports results the club has seen in seven years," added Dmitry Rybolovlev.

Vadim Vasilyev has been a member of the LFP board and executive committee since November 2016, and joined UEFA's club competition committee in February 2018.
