MLS: Don Garber extends as commissioner of the league for 5 years until the end of the 2023 season

Major League Soccer (MLS) has extended Don Garber's contract as commissioner for five years or until the end of the 2023 season, according to the North American professional football league on 14/02/2019.

"Garber, 61, has presided over MLS's dramatic growth and consolidation since taking the post in 1999, with the league expanding from 12 to 27 clubs, adding 25 new owners and developing 19 soccer stadiums across the United States and Canada," said MLS.

Austin FC, based in Texas (USA), will be the 27^th club to join MLS (see below) and will debut in 2021, according to MLS on 15/01/2019. "Major League Soccer will become the first major sports league to have a team in the culturally-dynamic city of Austin," said Don Garber.
