CIES: players trained at Barça, Real Madrid and Lyon accumulate the most playing time in the Top 5

Players trained at FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) are at the top of the ranking of minutes played in the European Top 5 leagues (Bundesliga, LaLiga Santander, Ligue 1 Conforama, Premier League and Serie A TIM) from 01/01/2014 to 11/02/2019, according to a Weekly Post from the CIES Football Observatory, published on 15/02/2019.

"FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) tops the table with 69 footballers trained fielded in the big-5 by 55 different teams for a total of 319,224 minutes. Behind the Catalans are their great rivals Real Madrid CF (LaLiga Santander): 69 footballers trained, 44 different clubs, 304,052 minutes. In the top ten positions are six Spanish, three French and one English team (Manchester United FC, Premier League)," said the CIES Football Observatory. France is the most represented country in the Top 50 of this ranking with 16 clubs, ahead of Spain (9 clubs), England (seven clubs), Germany and Italy (six clubs each).
