"The talk of a Super League is fanciful and lacks any kind of strategy. No league would back it given the damage it would do to their own domestic competition. For the biggest clubs, there is an effective Champions League model that allows them to compete against the best sides in the continent. When it comes to scheduling, priority should always be given to domestic leagues, which are the foundation of European football and must not be compromised," said Javier Tebas president of LaLiga, to News Tank Football on 19/02/2019.

"The proposed changes to UEFA club competitions raise big concerns about scheduling, broadcasting, and access that have not been answered so far. Discussions over rights distribution are not new and will almost inevitably continue as new ventures are created.
