Asics: a turnover of €3bn (-3.4%) and operating profit of €83m (-46.3%) in 2018

The Japanese sports equipment manufacturer Asics has posted a turnover of ¥386.6bn (€3.06bn on 31/12/2018) for the fiscal year 2018, down 3.4% compared to 2017, according to the brand on 13/02/2019. Asics also posted an operating profit of ¥10.5bn (€83m) in 2018, down 46.3%.

"During 2018, ASICS reported strong growth in key strategic areas. Although consolidated net sales in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) declined by 3%, sales in emerging markets grew currency-neutral by 21%; and sales in direct-to-consumer (DTC) channels increased by 22%. All emerging market territories realised growth on a currency-neutral basis, led by the Middle East which saw a notable 99% increase and Russia which saw a 19% increase. E-commerce sales grew by 105% versus 2017," said the brand on 14/02/2019.
