City Football Group: the holding company acquires its 7^th club Sichuan Jiuniu FC (China League Two)

City Football Group (CFG), an investment holding company in football assets (professional clubs, eSports, infrastructure), Ubtech (Chinese artificial intelligence and robotics company) and China Sports Capital (Chinese investment fund) have acquired Sichuan Jiuniu FC, a club based in Chengdu (Sichuan Province, China) that plays in China League Two (third division), announced CFG, on 19/02/2019.

Sichuan Jiuniu FC is the seventh club in which City Football Group has invested after Manchester City FC (Premier League), New York City FC (MLS), Melbourne City FC (Hyundai A-League), as majority shareholder, and Yokohama F. Marinos (J.League), Club Atletico Torque (URU, Primera Division) and Girona FC (LaLiga Santander), as minority shareholder.

"The move marks a natural development of the three new owners' commitment to participating in the long-term development of football in China," said City Football Group, which has had offices in the country in Shanghai (since 2016) and Shenzhen (since 2017).
