Belgium: MP & Silva agency could be a candidate for the Jupiler Pro League TV rights after 2014

The MP & Silva media agency will be a candidate for acquisition and distribution of the audiovisual rights, in Belgium and abroad, of the Jupiler Pro League after 2014, say Belgian media, on the 23/01/2014. The current contract for TV rights of the Belgian first division, which took effect in 2011-12, will expire at the end of the 2013-14 season. In total, the contract will yield €165 million over the period of three seasons to Pro League, the Belgian professional football league, and the 16 clubs of the elite division.

The agency could propose to the Pro League a guaranteed minimum amount of €55 million per season over twelve years, or €660 million from 2014-2026. MP & Silva would not launch its own distributor in Belgium, but resell the rights to interested distributors, announced the daily newspaper De Morgen on the 23/01/2014.
