Champions League: airlines are the most represented sector for shirt sponsorships in the Round of 16

Airlines are the most represented sector for main shirt sponsors of the 16 teams still competing in the Round of 16 of the 2018-19 Champions League, with a presence on the kits of four teams (25%). The automotive and telecommunications sectors follow with three clubs each. These three sectors represent 62.5% of the shirt sponsors of the remaining clubs in the Round of 16.

Emirates Airlines, the main shirt sponsor of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 Conforama) since 2006-07 through its name dedicated to sponsorship "Fly Emirates" (for an estimated €20-30m per season), will give way to Accor Live Limitless ("ALL"), the new "lifestyle loyalty programme" of the French hotel group Accor, from the 2019-20 season, announced the Parisian club on 21/02/2019. Accor will pay PSG between €46-56m per season.

The value of this contract corresponds to those received by the top five European clubs with the highest value main shirt sponsorship contracts in 2018-19: Manchester United FC (Premier League) with Chevrolet (around €60m), Chelsea FC (Premier League), who did not qualify for the 2018-19…
