"Puma has two platforms of activity: 'sport / performance' and 'lifestyle'. (...) We quickly realised that our base was going to be the 'sport' segment. This is our legacy, so everything we do must be rooted in sports. (...) Our partnerships with Usain Bolt, Ferrari, Mario Balotelli, Dortmund and Arsenal all fall into this logic and are the symbol of our brand and our spirit," said Björn Gulden, president and CEO of the German sports equipment brand Puma to NTF on the 27/01/2014 in London (ENG).

Puma formalised its kit and equipment partnership with Arsenal FC (Premier League) at the Emirates Stadium in London on the 27/01/2014. The agreement, which takes effect on the 01/07/2014, is "the most important in the history of Puma and Arsenal," said the German brand. The contract is estimated by several sources to be €35.5 million per season, from 2014-2019. Puma will provide the official equipment for training and all team matches of the London club, and gets all the licence fees for the development of Arsenal merchandise worldwide.
