The friendly warm-up match for the 2014 World Cup between Portugal and Cameroon will be played in Leiria (Portugal) and not at the Pierre-Mauroy Stadium of Lille (50,000 seats), on the 05/03/2014.

The FPF (Portuguese Football Federation) had announced that the match would be played in Lille on the 08/01/2014, in order to strengthen the links between the national team and the large Portuguese community in France. But the Portuguese Federation decided to hold the match at the Magalhaes Pessoa Stadium (23,800 seats) of Leiria "following discussions with the FFF (French Football Federation) which organises the friendly match France-Netherlands on the same day, at the Stade de France. "

The match was to be organised by Fame Sport, a company specialising in official games organisation, whose founder is Alexandre Ribeiro, accredited FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) agent.

  • Portugal and Cameroon are qualified to compete at the next World Cup in Brazil (from the 12/06/2014 to the 13/07/2014).
  • Portugal is in Group G with Germany, the United States and Ghana.
