Bundesliga: €2.17 billion turnover in 2012-13 (4.4%), ninth consecutive record year

The 18 Bundesliga clubs have achieved a combined turnover record of €2.17 billion during the 2012-13 season (€120.5 million on average per club), said Christian Seifert, CEO of the DFL (German Professional Football League), during the presentation of the 2014 Bundesliga Annual Report on the 28/01/2014. This is the ninth consecutive year the turnover of the German league set a new record.

The 2012-13 revenue of the first German division is higher by 4.4% (€91 million) than in 2011-12 (€ 2.08 billion). The Bundesliga also recorded a positive cumulative record operating profit of €383.5 million and a net profit of €62.6 million, the second highest amount since 2006.

The 18 2.Bundesliga clubs, the German second division, have achieved a combined record turnover of €419.4 million (sales comparable to the Dutch Eredivisie), up 9.1% compared to 2011-12, but with a net loss of €17 million. The combined turnover of the two German professional divisions reached €2.59 billion euros in 2012-13.
