LaLiga Santander: 25 million viewers in China watch Wu Lei's first goal for RCD Espanyol

Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona - Real Valladolid CF (3-1), Matchday 26 of the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander season on Saturday 02/03/2019 (kick-off at 13:00 CET, 20:00 in Beijing, China), in which Chinese striker Wu Lei (27, RCD Espanyol) scored his first goal in the Spanish league, was watched by more than 25 million viewers, according to the Spanish media Marca. In Spain, an average of 190,000 viewers watched the game on the pay-TV channel beIN LaLiga.

Wu Lei's RCD Espanyol debut versus Villarreal CF (2-2, Matchday 22 of the 2018-19 LaLiga Santander, on 03/02/2019) "was watched by more than 40 million people in China," announced the Spanish club on 24/02/2019.

Wu Lei (27), a Chinese international since 2010 (63 caps, 15 goals), was transferred from Shanghai SIPG FC (CSL) to RCD Espanyol for an estimated €2m in January 2019. A CSL champion in 2018 with Shanghai SIPG FC, the midfielder finished top goalscorer (27 goals) and was named player of the season.
