Bundesliga: three matches broadcast live every weekend in Asia, from 2015-16

American television group FIC (Fox International Channels), a subsidiary of 21st Century Fox, will broadcast live at least three Bundesliga matches every weekend in Asia from 2015-16, said Hernan Lopez, President and CEO of FIC, to the German website Sponsors, on the the 28/01/2014.

Media conglomerate 21st Century Fox has acquired the rights to broadcast the Bundesliga in North America, South America, most of Asia, Italy, the Netherlands and Belgium on the 14/10/2013. The agreement, which comes into effect for the 2015-16 season, focuses on five seasons (until the end of the fiscal year 2019-20) in North America, South America and Asia, and two seasons (2016-17) in the three European countries.

In total, 21st Century Fox will be able to broadcast the Bundesliga in 80 countries worldwide, including the United States, Brazil, China (in English), Indonesia and Mexico. India, Asia, and Oceania countries are excluded from the agreement

  • A minimum number (not yet defined) of Bundesliga matches will also be broadcast live every weekend in the United States.
