TV rights: FFF choose France Télévisions and Eurosport (Lot 1) and D8/D17 (Lots 2 and 3)

The French Football Federation (FFF) awarded the 2014-2018 rights to broadcast the men's and women's Coupes de France and the French women's championship top division to the public broadcaster France Télévisions and pay-TV channel Eurosport France, on the 30/01/2014. The two companies, which broadcast the competitions over the 2010-2014 period, were competing for Lot 1 of the rights with the pay-TV channel beIN Sports.

Free TV channels D8 and D17, properties of the Canal+ group, have been awarded Lots 2 (French U21 teams) and 3 (French women's national team), also for the 2014-2018 period. They were competing with the free TV channel L'Équipe21 for both Lots, and the public channel France 4, property of the France Télévisions group, for Lot 3.

The amounts of these acquisitions were not disclosed. "I am very satisfied, because the amounts of these new contracts are more than the previous ones. But the success of this tender is not measured on the financial plan. Our events will be seen by the largest number of viewers possible," Noël Le Graët, president of the FFF, stated to NTF…
