Pay-TV and Internet service provider group British BSkyB presented its innovations and goals for 2014 during the announcement of its results for the first half of 2014 (01/07-13/12/2013), on the 30/01/2014.

Among the items included in the spring 2014 launch is a package providing access to the Now TV Box, the Internet and on-demand TV service. This service allows the customer to watch TV on demand, with no monthly subscription commitment. The viewer can choose from a selection of entertainment programs and Sky TV movies, as well as subscribe to the day program of the Live Sky Sports channel, which includes broadcasts of the Premier League.

These innovations are intended, according to Jeremy Darroch, CEO of BSkyB, to target:
- 13 million UK homes that currently do not subscribe to the pay-TV channel
- 5.5 million Sky customers who do not have access to HD programs
- 7 million customers that have not yet subscribed to the Sky Go service for Internet and mobile phone TV
- and 6 million customers who have subscribed to Sky TV, but not with the additional Internet TV subscription.
