adidas: a turnover of €21.9bn (+3%) in 2018 and operating profit of €2.36bn (+14% compared to 2017)

adidas Group posted a turnover of €21.9bn in the 2018 financial year (from 01/01 to 31/12/2018), up 3% compared to 2017 (€21.2bn) at constant perimeter, announced the German equipment manufacturer on 13/03/2019. Excluding the impact of exchange rates, adidas Group turnover increased by 8% between 2017 and 2018.

The adidas brand represented 90.3% of the group's sales, at €19.85bn in 2018 compared to 89.5% in 2017 (€19m). The sales of the group's subsidiary Reebok decreased from €1.84bn to €1.67bn in 2018, but the brand "returned to profitability in 2018," according to adidas group. The "footwear" category represented 58% of the group's total revenue, approximately the same as in 2017 (58.6%).

Asia-Pacific is the leading market for adidas with turnover of €7.1bn, or 35.6% of the group's total, ahead of Western Europe (€5.88bn, 29.6%) and North America (€4.68bn, 23.5%).

adidas posted operating profit of €2.36bn, up 14% compared to 2017 (€2.07bn). The group's net profit amounted to nearly €1.7bn on 31/12/2018, up 45% year-on-year (€1.17bn).
