LaLiga Santander: Real Betis, 1^st club in the Top 5 to join the UN's Climate Neutral Now initiative

Real Betis Balompié (LaLiga Santander) has become the first club in the Top 5 European leagues to join the United Nations (UN) "Climate Neutral Now" initiative "committing to take action to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions," announced the Seville Club (ESP) on 14/03/2019.

Under the guidance of the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the Climate Neutral Now initiative was launched in September 2015 by a group of companies, including Microsoft, Sony, adidas and Marks & Spencer, as part of the Paris Climate Agreement. Its objective is to encourage companies and individuals to reduce their carbon footprint in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
