FC Barcelona: Pau Gasol (basketball) named ambassador, strategic advisor and partner in the US

Pau Gasol, a Spanish basketball player, has been named as ambassador, strategic advisor and partner of FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) in the United States, according to the Catalan club on 14/03/2019.

Pau Gasol (38), trained at FC Barcelona, where he played with the professional basketball team from 1999 to 2001, and has been playing in the NBA since 2001. Since joining the American league, he has played for five franchises: Memphis Grizzlies (2001-2008), Los Angeles Lakers (2008-2014), Chicago Bulls (2014-2016), San Antonio Spurs (2016-2019) and Milwaukee Bucks, since March 2019.

"FC Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu and Gasol presented the two-year agreement this Thursday at the Four Seasons Hotel in Brickell (Miami, Florida, USA), whereby they will be working together to boost the Barça brand (in sports and business) in the country. The older of the Gasol brothers (Marc, who has also been playing in the NBA since 2008) has earned hero status in the US after 18 glitteringly successful years in the world's biggest professional basketball league," said FC Barcelona.
