Brazil 2014: 15 of 32 teams choose a base camp in the State of Sao Paulo

15 of the 32 teams (including France, Russia, Portugal, the United States, Côte d'Ivoire and Mexico) participating in the World Cup in Brazil from 12/06 to 13/07/2014, chose a base camp in the State of Sao Paulo, stated a FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) document which summarised these choices on the 01/02/2014.

Federations had until the 31/01/2014 to choose their place of stay among the 83 sites listed by the Local Organising Committee of the twentieth World Cup.

A total of 24 teams will be accommodated in the southeast of Brazil, five in the northeast and three in the south.

Selection process and choice of base camps for teams in the 2014 World Cup:

  • Number of candidate sites: 403
  • Number of sites selected by the Local Organising Committee of the World Cup: 83
  • Selection deadline for base camps: 31/01/2014
  • Deadline for arrival in Brazil: five days before the first match of the team (World Cup regulation)
