Proposal 8: harnessing the experience of Euro 2016 to improve the management of stadiums

"Modernising the management of stadiums," is the eighth proposal of the report "Towards a sustainable model of French football", submitted by Jean Glavany, chairman of the Commission, to Valérie Fourneyron, Minister of Sports, Youth, Popular Education and Community Life, on 29/01/2014.

The Glavany Commision wishes to encourage dialogue and exchange between actors in order to avoid "over-dimensioning of investment."

"Today, too few clubs take the risk of direct or shared operations, preferring the status of occasional tenant of the stadium with a priority right of entry, albeit in return for a significant rental fee in new stadiums. This situation is not likely to empower clubs on stadium activity outside game days," stated the report.
