UK: financial results for BT Group are up, and over 2.5 million subscribers for BT Sport

BT Group, owner of the pay-TV channel BT Sport, achieved a turnover of £4.59 billion (€5.54 billion) during the third quarter of fiscal year 2013 (from 01/10 to 31/12/2013), an increase of 2% from the same quarter 12 months earlier (£4.52 billion, €5.46 billion), announced the British telecommunications group on 31/01/2014. Since the beginning of 2013 fiscal year (01/04/2013), BT has achieved a turnover of £13.54 billion (€16.35 billion), consistent with the first nine months of 2012 (£13.52 billion, €16.32 billion).

BT has achieved a positive operating profit of £867 million (€1.05 billion) in the third quarter of 2013, up 4% from the same period in 2012 (£833 million, €1 billion), and a profit before tax of £722 million (€871.6 million), an increase of 8% compared to 31/12/2012 (£666 million, €803.8 million). The group's operating margin reached 18%.

Since the beginning of fiscal year 2013, the group achieved a positive operating profit of £2.37 billion (€2.86 billion), up 2%, and a profit before tax of £1.93 billion (€2.33 billion), up 5% from the previous year. The debt of the…
