Premier League: 2019-22 international TV rights to exceed £4bn +25% versus 2016-19 (The Telegraph)

The value of the Premier League's international TV rights for the 2019-2022 cycle is expected to exceed £4bn (€4.65bn, or €1.55bn per season), a 25% increase compared to the current cycle (2016-2019), according to the British newspaper The Telegraph on 28/03/2019. Negotiations are still ongoing in some countries as of the same date.

This increase more than offsets the 7% decrease in domestic TV rights (allocated to Sky, BT Sport and Amazon, see details below), since the total value of Premier League TV rights over the 2019-2022 cycle is expected to exceed £9bn (€10.45bn or €3.48bn per season) compared to £8.64bn (€10bn or €3.33bn per season) currently.

The international TV rights of the Premier League will therefore be more than 30% higher than the domestic TV rights to LaLiga Santander (2019-2022), the Bundesliga (2017-2021) and the Ligue 1 Conforama (2020-2024), and 60% higher than those of the Serie A TIM (2018-2021).
