European Leagues: 38^th General Assembly in Lisbon (Portugal) on Friday 05/04/2019

"The European Leagues will organise its 38^th General Assembly on Friday 05/04/2019 at the Estádio da Luz (64,165 capacity) in Lisbon (POR)," announced European Leagues on 28/03/2019.

Organised by the "Liga Portugal" as host league, the General Assembly will bring together representatives of the 35 member leagues that belong to European Leagues.

The European Leagues General Assembly will take place 17 days after an "informal brainstorming session to exchange views and ideas around UEFA club competitions post-2024" between the UEFA Executive Committee and the ECA Executive Board was held at UEFA's headquarters in Nyon (SUI), on 19/03/2019. ECA and UEFA discussed the prospect of dividing the 32 Champions League clubs into four groups of eight teams (instead of eight groups of four), starting in 2024-25, which would ensure that each participant would play at least 14 matches instead of six. The bodies also discussed the possibility of scheduling matches on weekends from the quarterfinals.
