Premier League international TV rights: China, Africa, MENA and USA the top 4 markets

The value of the Premier League's international TV rights for the 2019-2022 cycle is expected to exceed £4bn (€4.65bn, or €1.55bn per season), a 25% increase compared to the current cycle (2016-2019), according to the British newspaper The Telegraph on 28/03/2019 while negotiations are still ongoing in some countries (including India and Japan) as of 04/04/2019.

China (estimated at €210m per season), Sub-Saharan Africa (estimated at €150m per season), MENA (estimated at €150m per season) and the United States (estimated at €150m per season) represent the four most important markets for the international TV rights of the Premier League over the 2019-2022 cycle.

In China, the amount has been multiplied by more than 10. PPTV (Suning Group), China's Internet and mobile streaming platform, acquired the rights for the 2019-2022 cycle on 17/11/2016 and will replace Super Sports Media Group, which holds the rights for the 2013-2019 cycle, for an estimated €20m per season.
