Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund donate €1m for the extension of the Yad Vashem Memorial (Israel)

Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga) will make a donation of €1m to finance the extension of the Yad Vashem Memorial, The World Holocaust Remembrance Center, located in Jerusalem (Israel), announced the club on 02/04/2019.

Four other German companies - the car manufacturers Daimler AG and Volkswagen, the railway company Deutsche Bahn and the banking group Deutsche Bank - will make donations of the same amount, which will enable the German association "Yad Vashem's Circle of Friends" to contribute €5m to the expansion of the building, which contains the largest number of objects related to the Holocaust in the world. Work is expected to begin in August 2019.

"For many years now, we have been providing educational programs for BVB fans, colleagues, partners and sponsors. Together with this strong network, we are making a lasting commitment to the memory of the Holocaust, as well as against modern day anti-Semitism," said Carsten Cramer, managing director of Borussia Dortmund.
