OGC Nice: "My plan is to develop the club and play in Europe regularly" (G. Ganaye, president)

"My business plan? To develop the club and play in Europe regularly. OGC Nice (Ligue 1 Conforama) has developed very strongly, but the managers have focused solely on the sporting side. This is not a criticism, but we haven't capitalised commercially on this (sporting) success," said Gauthier Ganaye, the new president of the Nice (FRA) club, to the French daily Le Figaro on 04/04/2019.

"Structurally, we lose a lot of money, but when we sell players, Nice remains in balance. That's good news and bad news. I hope that we will eventually reach financial equilibrium from an operational point of view, and that the sale of any player will be a bonus and 100% reinvested into the club," continued the man who has been president of OGC Nice since 30/01/2019, after having held the position of chief executive of Barnsley FC (Sky Bet League One) in England.

"The increase in TV rights will help us. Provided that we don't spend it all on transfers, which is the mistake many French clubs will make. It also means developing our commercial revenues to reduce this dependence on player trading," added…
