Formula 1: a record 97,000 spectators at the fifteenth Bahrain Grand Prix (29-31/03/2019)

A total of 97,000 spectators attended the 2019 Bahrain Grand Prix, held at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir from 29 to 31/03/2019, according to Formula 1 on 02/04/2019. This is a new attendance record for the race in Bahrain, which celebrated its 15th edition.

The attendance for the Grand Prix was up 2.1% compared to in 2018 (95,000 spectators). Additionally, 34,000 spectators attended the day of Lewis Hamilton's (Mercedes-AMG Petronas Motorsport) victory on 31/03/2019, a new record for the Grand Prix, compared to 33,000 in 2018 (+3%).

"We are absolutely thrilled to have broken all records for race day and weekend attendance. Since 2013, our total attendance has risen by 33%, reflecting the huge growth in the popularity of the sport in the region. I thank all the fans who have travelled from all parts of the world, who have shared this spectacle with us," said Arif Rahimi, president of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
