eSports: FC Barcelona creates a team on the Rocket League video game

"FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) takes another step forward in eSports with the creation of a Rocket League team, a video game that combines the best of football and motorsports. Barça will compete in the most important competitons such as the Rocket League Championship Series and international events such as DreamHack, which bring together the best teams worldwide," announced the Spanish club on 04/04/2019.

In February 2018, FC Barcelona joined eFootball.Pro, an eSports league, events and content creation company, founded in 2016 by Gerard Piqué (Spanish international and FC Barcelona defender). eFootball.Pro offers an international league competing on the PES 19 video game from the Japanese publisher Konami, a partner of FC Barcelona. Until the team's launch on Rocket League (developed by Psyonix), this was FC Barcelona's only involvement in eSports.
