The social network Facebook and the pay-TV group Fox Sports have signed an agreement to share the broadcasting rights to the CONMEBOL Libertadores for the 2019-2022 cycle in Spanish-speaking South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela), announced CONMEBOL on 08/04/2019.

The Thursday evening matches (27 per season), which have so far been broadcast exclusively on Facebook Watch, will also be broadcast on Fox Sports. Furthermore, CONMEBOL has announced that Facebook will now broadcast 46 matches per season in Spanish-speaking South America, which the company had previously communicated on 05/10/2018.

Facebook, which has been broadcasting CONMEBOL Libertadores games since 05/03/2019, was facing criticism from users who complained about picture quality which was "at times in slow motion, cut or delayed," according to South American media reports on 22/03/2019.
