Man United - FC Barcelona: combined revenue of €1.356bn for "richest Champions League match ever"

With a combined revenue of €1.356bn in the previous season (according to the Deloitte Football Money League 2019), Manchester United FC (Premier League) and FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) prepare to face each other in what several media outlets have dubbed "the richest Champions League match ever", with the first leg of the quarter-final of the 2018-19 UEFA Champions League at Old Trafford in Manchester (ENG), on Wednesday 10/04/2019 (kick-off at 21:00 CET).

FC Barcelona was ranked second in the Deloitte Money League 2019, which lists the 20 clubs that generated the most revenue (excluding capital gains on player transfers) in 2017-18. With €690.4m in revenue, Barça were ranked just ahead of Manchester United, third in the ranking with a turnover of €665.9m. (Real Madrid CF were first in the Deloitte Money League 2019 with €750.9m in revenue).

With more than 223 million fans on social media (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram), FC Barcelona (LaLiga Santander) has 1.8 times as many as Manchester United FC (Premier League), which totals more than 122 million, as the two teams
