beIN Sports available in Thailand since 05/02/2014 on the pay-TV platform TrueVisions

Qatari pay-TV channel beIN Sports has teamed up with the Thai pay-TV operator TrueVisions, and is now broadcast in Thailand since 05/02/2014. The Qatari group, in partnership with the media and marketing rights agency MP & Silva, had announced on 01/07/2013 they would launch beIN Sport 1 HD in Thailand in August 2013.

Contrary to the announcement in July 2013, the Thai beIN Sports channel will not broadcast the Premier League. TrueVisions was a candidate to obtain the Premier League broadcasting rights in Thailand for the period 2013-2016, but the pay-TV cable operator CTH won those rights. "The Premier League is not essential for pay-TV. We can still offer our subscribers exclusive and strong content," said Anat Mekpaiboonwattana, CEO of TrueVisions, on 04/02/2014.
