Data: Perform Content acquired by the American fund Vista Equity Partners (parent company of STATS)

The American investment fund Vista Equity Partners, parent company of STATS, a company specialised in the capture and analysis of sports data, has acquired the British company Perform Content, specialised in the production of sports content and parent company of Opta (sports statistics provider), according to the companies on 15/04/2019. The transaction, the amount of which has not yet been disclosed, is expected to be finalised in the second half of 2019.

"DAZN Group, Perform's owner, will receive a combination of cash and a significant minority stake in the newly formed company," said Perform.

"Together US-based STATS and European-based Perform will combine STATS' world-class expertise in artificial intelligence with both companies' rich historical archives, creating a treasure trove of sports data primed to be unlocked by AI," announced the companies.
