Eco-responsibility: the LFP joins forces with WWF France to highlight environmental issues

Raising public awareness of biodiversity and environmental protection issues, raising awareness among players in training centres of these same issues and reducing the environmental footprint of clubs are the three objectives of the one-year agreement signed by Nathalie Boy de la Tour, president of the LFP, and Isabelle Autissier, former sailor and president (since 2009) of the French branch of the environmental NGO the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), on 16/04/2019.

"One year after the League signed WWF France and the Ministry of Sports' sustainable events charter, implemented during the final of the Coupe de la Ligue BKT, the LFP is continuing its action to help make professional football more eco-responsible," said the LFP.

"Every four minutes, a football pitch size plot of forest disappears from the planet. The equivalent of a plastic dumpster is dumped into the oceans every minute, or eight to ten million tonnes per year. In the face of this phenomenon, it is important that everyone is involved.
